Right Now edition by Sarah Baethge Literature Fiction eBooks

This is an interesting short story about roundabout goings-on at an aerospace company, as seen through the eyes of a young woman working there. The concept is very sound, and would definitely benefit from lengthening, which would explore the story in much more detail, as what is presented is very intriguing. The serio-comic atmosphere keeps the story fresh and readable until the end.

Right Now edition by Sarah Baethge Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Well written with a good style and tone. The idea was good too. However, the development of characters could have been better, which would have brought the story alive. Worth a look and I will certainly be watching for more.
This review is for the edition ebook.

What if it was possible to see into the future? Lilly is hired to work for her brother and his friend. An investigation leads to the discovery of Joe, in an old shed. Joe can not remember what he used to do, but he can tell what will happen in the next few minutes.

Sarah Baethge shows a lot of promise in this short story. The plot is great, and lets the reader use their own imagination to explore the future. I was very much into the story, when the book ended. I was left with a feeling of "that's all?", and was not even sure I did not miss a page.

I was left wondering what happened to the characters in this story. It ended very abruptly, almost like ending a chapter of a book. The concept for this story is very intriguing, I would even like to see more books written on this subject.

I would happily grab a sequel of this book. I like the writing style, and found the concepts in the book interesting. I am a bit perturbed by the ending, and would prefer not to read another book that leaves me hanging the way this one did.
This story is written in first person by a young woman named Lily Aldern. She finds herself between jobs and is hired as a secretary at her brother's detective agency. He is one of a two man partnership at C & A Detective Agency. The company is investigating suspicious activity at an aerospace company, Legacy Towers. The team comes across a strange man, Joe, and it appears that all of his past memory has been wiped clean, yet he has an uncanny knack for predicting little snippets of the future. Exactly what kind of experimentation is going on at Legacy Towers?

The tone and voice are unique and for the most part believable. The interaction between Lily and the other 3 characters create a hint of comic relief to the story. The wonderful thing about science fiction is the many facets it can take, so many possibilities. I think this could be a great story if it was expanded upon. The characters needed to be more developed. The reader learns a little bit about Lily, and a little bit about Joe, but her brother and his partner, who have some major story line, are just there, much like a prop, and the reader is left wondering about them. This story ends abruptly, and leaves me to wonder if there is going to be a sequel, but it wasn't hinted that there would be more. I really do like the premise of this story and I am left wanting more. I would love to see this expanded to at least a longer story, but it has great possibilities for a novella or even a novel. I would definitely like to see more from this writer, and would read this again with an expansion or if a sequel is coming, I would like to see that.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

A private investigating firm finds themselves in the middle of a strange phenomena in author Sarah Baethge’s novel Right Now. Here’s the synopsis

This short read was a great way to delve more into the works of author Sarah Baethge. With her recent release The Illumination Query, it was fun to explore the creative force behind that novel in this short story. Exploring a unique twist on the time travel/seeing the future storyline, we get to see a man who’s memories are replaced with visions of the future, and one person’s struggle to accept that reality. It was full of strong imagery, and left things on a cliffhanger of sorts that begged for more story to be told.

Overall I loved the story. It was a very quick read, but is worth the purchase if you’re looking for a quick, gut-punch of a science fiction thriller. If you haven’t yet be sure to pick up your copy of Right Now by Sarah Baethge today!
This story is about some questionable experimentation which is secretly taking place at a high tech company. The shady goings-on are uncovered by a team of likeable (if sarcastic) private detectives. My favorite thing about this story is the inventiveness of the plot. The author has a vivid imagination! Maybe there will be a sequel so we can find out more about the "bad guys" and their motivation.
